Reminiscent of my time in the military I have fallen into the "Hurry up and wait" mode. So, during my down time I hunt around for tidbits of news on the happenings of all that is or will be DCUO. This site has stemmed from an over filled "favorites" folder really. I just said to myself, "Hey self...wouldn’t this be easier in some other format?" So here it is. A verbose method of cataloguing good bits of news and tid bits in a semi-understandable format. Hopefully, it might make things easier for you as well. By the way, if you come across anything that I seem to have missed, please let me know so I can include it.
The direct from the horses mouth input can be found on the DC Universe Online MySpace site. The trailers, the behind the scenes looks, and a huge selection of concept art and screen shots are all placed conveniently at our leisure. Although, I have to sadly admit, the instant play feature on the embedded video has got me in trouble on more than one occasion with El Jeffe, so if you’re at work make sure the sound is down ;-).
For interviews, I think my favorite is the Jim Lee interview on Massively. Learning of Mr. Lee’s interest in other MMORPG’s is just about the icing on the cake for this entire scenario. My big question is what did he run? For the artist of ‘Batman : Hush’ my platinum is on a Dark Elf Shadow Knight. In any event, his background in participating in MMO’s (a SOE one at that) can only aid the final product. Also from Massively is a great video interview with DCUO Executive Producer John Blakely from Comic Con showing actual game footage.
Another good article was posted by Crispy Gamer. This one includes some actual notes on game play for us.
I’ll include more as I find it, but I have to stop for the moment and go grab the X-Box...I’m jonesin’!
